RED66: Unboxing “The World According to Twitter”

  • Tassoula · 4 months ago
Yay! What a great post (and your Tweets are great too).

I also made the book (I'm @tassoula) but since I'm toward the end of the alphabet, I understand I have to wait a few weeks for my signed copy.

Thanks for sharing and getting me even more excited than I already was.

Ya, me too (@mjfrombuffalo) - but at least now I know what the cover looks like!
  • cgranier · 4 months ago
@mjfrombuffalo Is that your own proposal story on the book? Good you didn't anesthesia that day

    ;-)
  • mjfrombuffalo · 4 months ago
Yup, that's how it went. 11 years later and I'm still married to him. He's not still wearing the bib though. :)

@tassoula Wow... just checked your entry in the index: you're on five different pages. Yikes! Loved the household tips, btw. Thanks for stopping by.

Ha! One of mine is on that page! "dewd like askin 4 stuff from ur country is like so ghey u shud be doin stuff 4 ur country". :)

Dewd, that's so like wow. It's almost like U R in a book, or sumthin!

    He he... congratulations, page mate!

Great! I also have to wait (@marisebarros) - but probably much longer: my copy has to make it to Brazil...
  • cgranier · 4 months ago
    LOL, loved that anagram!

Also got my copy yesterday (I live in Manhattan). The tweets are so funny, I'm going to buy another copy so I can keep my autographed copy pristine. Want to take the book along to read during my travels. Love your tweet 2 B R Not 2B...
  • cgranier · 4 months ago
That's not a bad idea... mine's already showing the wear and tear! Thanks for stopping by.

PS: Good advice on that tweet of yours!

Love it! Can't wait to get mine!
  • Gina Scott · 4 months ago
Have been enjoying my copy! Even my daughter is reading it!
  • cgranier · 4 months ago
@scottgina It's an amazing book... fun and enlightening. And you're right, we should all pay more attention to family stories as we grow up - after a while it's our turn to tell them.

    Thanks!

Awesome post! I'm in the book as well, @mehughes124. I have 4 tweets included, I believe. haven't gotten my copy yet though, *is jealous*.
  • cgranier · 4 months ago
4 tweets... that's awesome. And you're right, that last Indy Jones flick could've been avoided.

    Thanks.

Nice blog entry! Saw it via Pogue's tweet. I met David at a lecture on July 22 on Cape Cod and got a preview of a bit of the book...he is absolutely hilarious doing a presentation and I'd encourage anyone to see one if you can...he also is fan friendly and a really nice guy!
  • cgranier · 4 months ago
Completely agree... very fan friendly, though we've only met via Twitter. Thanks for dropping by and leaving your comment. ;-)

I also got a chance to meet his charming wife and one of his sons...he had the audience of about 400+ ppl roaring with laughter and got to see the new Olympus EP-1 before it became public...it was one of gadgets he talked about, along with the MiFi, and others.

Here's a pix of us after the presentation: http://www.flickr.com/photos/17328353@N00/38257...

Nice! I made it in twice but as my name is in the latter half of the alphabet I'll be waiting a while for mine. Can't wait!
  • cgranier · 4 months ago
He he... Nice anagram! Congratulations on making the book. And thanks for the blog comment.

Wow! You're very lucky to have that book. How I wish I have that one also.
